The Ford endeavour is a big and brawny SUV from the American manufacturer, which fits the exact description that we Indian have regarding what an off-roader should look like. It received a warm welcome from the buyers when it was first launched in 2009, even though it was a bit boxy in its appearance. The vehicle recently received a mid-life makeover in 2014 to resolve this issue and keep its hold firm in the market among the increasing competition.
Exteriors
The Ford Endeavour gets an elongated body structure which makes it look quite big in comparison to other SUVs in the segment. The front of the vehicle bears a completely new face and is marked by soft and contemporary looking features rather than the old, square-ish ones. It gets redesigned sweptback headlamps, a new three spoke chrome grill along with a hexagonal air-dam and restyled circular fog-lamps which are highlighted by chrome. Moving on to the sides we find massively augmented wheel arches and broad windows which will help in increasing overall visibility. Also due to the high ground clearance of the Endeavour, it gets side foot-plates as well. The back facia of the vehicle is dominated by the gigantic spare wheel which is enclosed in a silver case. Apart from that we still gets the D-pillar incorporated longitudinal tail-lamps which lack any interesting amount of detailing.
The power to take you there and beyond. With 200PS (147kW) power, our 3.2l TDCi diesel engine is the driving force behind the Ford Endeavour’s mighty pickup for hill climb. At the same time, its impressive fuel economy helps you save money. Check Out the Ford Endeavour exterior, Interior photo gallery, 360 view, Color variants, Videos, and other features.
Interiors
The interiors are decorated with a beige and black colour scheme with certain panels made out of wood in order to provide the cabin with a touch of sophistication. Other than that the design layout is pretty basic with nothing out of the ordinary. The air-con vents along with the steering wheel are highlighted by silver fixtures to make the cabin a little bit more interesting. The biggest change which comes with this facelift is the touch-screen multimedia system which replaces the earlier standard one. The vehicle gets 2 cup-holders which are integrated in the central tunnel along with decent storage space on the dashboard and in the door pockets. On the equipment front the Endeavour comes loaded with creature comforts like separate air-con vents for the 2nd and 3rd row of seats, tilt adjustable steering wheel and height adjustable front seats but it misses out on steering mounted controls and automatic climate control. On the safety front the vehicle gets dual front airbags, Anti-Lock braking system and Electronic brake distribution (EBD).

Engine and performance
The Ford Endeavour is available with both 4x4 and 4x2 avatars. The 4x4 variant is powered by a 3.0 litre diesel engine which produces 156bhp and a peak torque of 380Nm, and is mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The 4x2 variant gets an additional 2.5 litre diesel power unit in addition to the 3.0 litre motor. It produces 143bhp along with 330 Nm of torque. Both the engines in the 4x2 avatar are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Competition
The Endeavour competes against the likes of Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero and the Honda CR-V.
